Finally details for the trombone choir concert has been released couple of days ago.

here it is~

The Trombone Society (Singapore) proudly presents
the Singapore Trombone Choir's 2nd Concert.

the 1st concert been held 2 years ago was received
with overwhelming response. and the tickets were
sold-out 2 weeks before the concert.

This year's concert tickets is not launched yet,
but u can start to pre-order the tickets for
yourself and band-mates now, u can ask ur band's
trbonists whether they wanna go, then email the
number of tickets u wanna order to:

singaporetrombonechoir@gmail.com

in the email, state your
1)full name,
2)school/organization you're from,
3)contact number,
4)number of tickets ordering.

once the tickets are launched, i'll be contacting
you to meet up to collect the tickets, n i'll
collect the $ for the tickets from u~

the concert is on:

Date: 16th sept 2006,
Venue: lee foundation theatre @ NAFA,
Time: 7.30pm,
Price: Tickets @ $10.

i don't think i'll be selling any tickets at the
door on the concert day. as there's only 330
tickets on sale, as it's a small hall. so i'm
expecting tickets to be sold before the concert.

best regards,

Keith Koe

hahahaha, so do come n support if you're free that day~

the group is rehearsing very hard now. for all the different items, everyone is sacrificing other nights to rehearse their item/s, on top of our usual practice on thur nights.

from a couple of my frens who been to the ndp preview this yr, they all tot that the show segment this yr is bery nice....

in a few days time. we'll be celebrating our Nation's b'day.

yeah~

then will have a 1.5 weeks stand down period for those with lot's of off to clear.

but i guess i wont get to enjoy that, need to go back work to teach the trombone trainees in saf bands training wing. their trainees' test is on 22nd n 23rd i tink.

hope they do well...
____________________________________________________________________

anyway, 21st august tt week onwards, we'll be starting display rehearsal for our korea trip. for the Wonju International Military Tattoo 2006.

held in oct this year... we'll be away for almost 2 weeks.

looking forward to it~ been 5 yrs since central band went overseas.

i bought an edwards tenor trombone from this american guy(jamie williams), he's currently playing for Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany.

but according to him, he just auditioned and won a job with vienna philharmonic next season.

this edwards that he sold me, was tested by him personally at the edwards workshop, he tried from 80 bells and chose the one his teacher(Joe Alessi) at that time thought was the best for him.

he was also a school-mate of our SSO's Fredi(trb) and Sam Hyken(Tpt), when they were studying in Julliard, USA.

the trombone he sold me has 2 bells, a 8" and 8.5" yellow brass bells, a red brass tuning slide(he says it's a common set-up to use yellow bell with red tuning slide in orchestra), a standard edwards slide, 3 interchangable brass lead-pipe and a silver leadpipe. he also mentioned his teacher Joe used it to perform for several concert before.

anyway, i got it from him for abt 3 weeks le, been playing on it. couple of my frens thought tat i still sounded very dark on the tenor. Years from playing on a bass, i guess. i'll need to find my sound in a tenor.

finally own a tenor that i can call my own. got a bass n a tenor, the start of my own collection, would like to get an Alto, a slide trumpet and the most expensive of the trombone family.... a Contra-Bass Trombone....

hee~

keep on dreaming to see it realized~
