Finally....

the Barnes concert is over....

borrowed my fren's recording of the concert...
convert it to mp3 liaoz.....

the recording is not good~
(the quality of the recording.....)

but the band sounds rather fine....
(with some slips here and there)
eg. a wrong note during a certain nice oboe solo in poetic~

hahahaha~!

Barnes....
his comments during rehs are rather constructive...
it helps change the band a bit during his brief stay with us... 4days....

lined with his humours, some of the things he say can be damn funny lor~!

but like the many other foreign conductors tt took us so far...
some of his comments are laced with some fakeness...

like saying this part 'nice' or something.....
probably to encourage the soloist, section or band?

hmm~

but i enjoyed myself completely during the 4 days with him...
especially on concert day...

a sudden sense of accomplishment after i finished playing 5th symphony....
or is it a sense of "yeah, it's finally over~?"

but i had fun....
frens who knows mi n heard mi b4 in any concerts,
n hear mi play the 2nd half of this concert(esp 5th sym. 1st mvt.)
will know tt it's the freaking loudest i've whacked in my whole playing career~!

cos in the 1st mvt of the 5th symphony got this fff part for trbs...
(in most of his big works alway got 3 tenor trbs n a bass trb part...)

the 3 tenor parts are playing in unison... mean they got the same melody n range...
n i'm the only bass trb part, playing the same melody.... but 1 octave lower...

normally when i play tt part is still within control...
but the bars b4 tt we come in.... the band was playing much louder then normal..
so i hoot the fff part lor...

after the concert.... i have mixed comments...
a lot says they notice i hoot the fff....
some say they like it(includes my concert master, fellow trb and colleagues...)
alvin told mi tt barnes was smiling aft the fff part...
so did we pleased him or pissed him????

but the main man in my playing career(Maj. Tng la...who else)
says he doesnt quite like the tone of the trb....

haiz.... but he gave the whole band 1 day incentive off~!!!!
tt will explain why i writing this blog entry from home now...

So...

1 major project ended...
lots more to come this yr~!

saf day n ndp rehs gonna start soon~
and we gonna be rehearsing for the July's WASBE convention....

we'll be playing festive music for Singapore again...
gotta work on the trb freaking double-tonguing~!!!!

one and the half months since i last blogged~!

hahahaha~

fenzzy been bombing mi with msges whenever she sees mi on msn.....

been staying in camp very often....

elsie's Marcus Bonna trb case have arrived in april...

now waiting for my case, inst stand n a trb cd to arrive....

schedule in work is getting more n more jam pack~!!!!

just 4 weeks b4 barnes concert....
when we're just abt to start rehearsing for it~
we received news tt central band has been activated for the state funeral of the late Dr. Wee Kim Wee....

MAY -
and we left with 3 weeks now to reh for the barnes concert...
morning full band, pm sectionals for most of the days....

Mr Barnes will only be coming on the tue,wed n thur b4 concert to reh us....

JUNE -
after barnes concert....
Central Band is detailed for June's C.O.G......

JULY -
CPT Lee's and Grace's birthday~!

then due to shortage of man power in SAF Bands,
members of some sections in central band have been detailed to go down for SAF Day parade...

central band havent been going down since 2001? cos always jun/july got concert~

AUGUST -
then this yr's ndp at padang....
marching again~

SEPTEMBER -
..... forgot got wad~!!!
hahahahah~!

OCTOBER -
jiahui's, fion's, eric pan's and my birthday

combine concert with Police Band

NOVEMBER -
combine concert with MDC

DECEMBER -
hoping to take my dip this month~!

proposed trip cancelled~!

yeah, then got time n $ to go on private trip with my gf again~!!!!!
